Well, in case you didn’t hear it elsewhere, I have some unexpected news to share with you all. In my last post, I was thrilled to announce that I'd be attending Sask Expo Regina this year. Along with the rest of the world, I’ve now learned that the 2024 edition of the show I consistently call my favourite has been postponed until 2025. The official statement reads:
"Due to unforeseen personal health concerns the 2024 Edition of Sask Expo Regina has been postponed. We will be working with the venue to choose alternate dates for 2025 and will communicate further once all details have been finalized."
I’m deeply disappointed to miss out on this opportunity. I had so been looking forward to traveling to Regina, reconnecting with old friends, and hopefully introducing even more people to my graphic novel, Does Your Mother Know?: A Comic Book Confessional. It was shaping up to be a fantastic event, and I know so many of you were just as eager for it as I was.
As much as I’m crushed by this sudden announcement, I can only imagine how difficult this must be for the amazing team of dedicated staff and volunteers at Sask Expo. I’m sure they’re even more disappointed, knowing how much they’ve invested in wanting nothing more than to put on another successful show. Their hard work doesn’t go unnoticed, and I hope they know the community stands behind them during this challenging time.
While the postponement is a letdown, I’m already excited and hopeful for 2025! I’m confident that when Sask Expo Regina returns, it will be an incredible event, and I can’t wait to see everyone there. Thank you all for your support, and here’s to an even better time when we reunite next year.
For now, I’ll be focusing on other opportunities to share my work and connect with you all.
Just so this post isn’t a total bummer, here’s a recent interview I did with my good pal Craig Silliphant, talking comics, visiting France and promoting the upcoming SaskAssemble show…
Thanks for reading, I love you.
